Big Bass Blast

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Big Bass Blast is one of those games that looks simple in a screenshot and then quietly eats a whole evening. You tap to cast, watch the lure drop, and pull back at the right moment when a fish bites. The rhythm is everything — cast too early and you spook the shoal, wait too long and it swims off.

What kept me coming back is how the lakes open up. Each new spot has its own fish that behave differently, so the timing you learned on the first pond stops working and you have to read the water again. Controls are one thumb the whole way, which makes it perfect for the standing-on-a-tram situation. And yes, it runs completely offline — I tested it in airplane mode for a full session and nothing broke.

The art is cheerful without being loud, and the little animation when you land a big catch is genuinely satisfying. It's not deep, but it's honest fun.
