Hollow Lantern
★★★★★ 4.6
Hollow Lantern is a mood piece. You wander a foggy town with a lantern, solving small environmental puzzles and slowly piecing together why the place emptied out. There's barely any text — the story comes through what you find and where.
It's the kind of game you play with headphones in a dark room. The sound design is the star, and the puzzles never got frustrating enough to break the atmosphere. It's short, maybe four hours, and every minute of it works offline.
If you want a story that lingers rather than a challenge that tests you, this is a lovely evening.
